Received our new 20ft container in RAL6007 this morning and it looks fantastic and Storage on Site driver Harry Wood made an excellent job with positioning the container in our clients preferred position. Great work Harry and our client was extremely happy, well done.

S.O.S containers are our incumbent suppliers here at the Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa. Nothing is too much trouble! Dwayne their delivery driver is a legend! Incredibly skilled lifter, managed to tuck a container under a gable and get it much closer than I thought possible to the wall, not a scratch on anything. Handy reversing with a trailer too.
Would I recommend Storage on Site, definitely.
Would I play Jenga against Dwayne.... No!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent service from start to finish.

The containers we had delivered were absolutely immaculate — perfectly clean, in excellent condition and exactly what we needed. I was particularly impressed with how well presented they were on arrival.

Kim and her team have been fantastic throughout the whole process. Communication was excellent, everything was well organised, and the delivery went very smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble, and the level of customer service has been first class.

It has been a pleasure dealing with such a professional, friendly and helpful company. I would have no hesitation in using them again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for containers and a reliable, high-quality service.

Thank you again to Kim and the whole team!

Frequently asked questions
Container Conversions

What is a container conversion?

A shipping container conversion is a standard shipping container which has been modified. Modifications can include adding doors and windows, roller shutters, electrics and lighting, painting the unit, changing the shape and size of the unit – the opportunities are endless!

If you are looking for a converted shipping container for sale, our team would be happy to help bring your vision to life. Whether you need a custom cabin for a construction site, smart units to make the most of your self storage site space, or a summer house for your garden, our in-house team of experts are here to make your ideas a reality. Get in touch today by calling 023 8033 2266, or email sales@storageonsite.staging.tempurl.host for a quote.

How long will my container conversion take?

Upon your initial enquiry, we will provide a timescale for your build and keep you updated throughout the build process. More complicated builds will take longer than simpler jobs, but with a dedicated conversion team, you won’t be waiting long.

Does my conversion need to be a standard size?

Don’t worry, your container conversion doesn’t have to be a standard 10, 20 or 40ft size. Our team can design and build a unit to be any size you need.

Are your container conversions built in-house?

All our container conversions are designed and built entirely in-house by our skilled team of welders and modification specialists. This ensures high quality, precision, and full control over every stage of the process. Niche components of your conversion may be serviced by other trusted professionals, but rest assured, your build will be controlled by SOS from start to finish.

What is container cladding, and why should I consider it for my shipping container conversion?

Container cladding involves covering the exterior of a shipping container. This covering could be decorative or practical, improving the durability or appearance of the unit. A cladded shipping container offers better protection against rust, dents, and wear, which in turn helps maintain its visual appeal.

Cladding a shipping container in wood or timber-look composite is a popular choice for those looking for a more organic or natural aesthetic. At Storage on Site, we have worked with timber cladding on a number of successful container conversion projects, including classrooms and garden rooms.

Will my container conversion meet building regulations?

Yes, our modified containers can be made to meet building regulations. Upon enquiry, let us know what regulations you need to meet, and we can provide a bespoke quote to meet your criteria.

Can my conversion be painted a custom colour?

Yes. We can paint your conversion in any standard RAL colour. If you would like a specific custom colour outside of the RAL range, this can also be arranged. With an in-house paint bay, we can finish your units to a high standard to ensure an aesthetically pleasing final product.

Can my container conversion include electrics?

Yes! Our team specialise in building custom cabins which can include LED lights, heaters, and plug sockets.

How secure are the doors on your container conversions?

Our personnel doors include a 10-point locking system for your peace of mind. Our cargo doors feature a lockbox for secure closure, with heavy duty padlocks available for purchase.

Are your container conversions insulated?

We have many options for insulation, from poly-urethane spray insulation to 50mm Rockwool insulation. Whilst putting together your quote, we will discuss your options to ensure you have the right insulation for your container conversion, ensuring your valued possessions stay as protected as possible from condensation.

Is there a standard I should follow for the positioning of doors and windows in my custom container conversion?

No – doors and windows can be positioned wherever meets the practical and aesthetic needs of your project. If you are unsure, our expert team can help design your unit with your requirements in mind.

Can my container conversion include anti-vandal windows?

Yes. We can fit anti-vandal windows to your container conversion, providing extra security and durability for high-traffic or exposed locations.
