Supporting the Netley Marsh Steam Rally and Our Local Community

At Storage on Site, supporting our local community is at the heart of what we do. That’s why we’ve proudly sponsored the Netley Marsh Steam & Craft Show for several years, and 2024 was no different. This beloved event, which began back in 1971, has grown into a cherished tradition that we’re thrilled to be a part of year after year.

What started as a modest gathering of steam enthusiasts has blossomed into a major event that draws visitors from across the South of England. The Netley Marsh Steam & Craft Show is a highlight on our calendar, not just because we sponsor it, but because it gives us the chance to connect with our local community and celebrate our shared heritage.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the show is the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people. Whether you’re a long-time fan of steam engines or just curious about what we do, we love chatting with attendees about our storage containers, site cabins, and portable accommodation units. It’s always a pleasure to share our expertise and see the excitement in people’s eyes when they learn how our products can be used to make their lives easier.

This year, we were especially excited to showcase two of our crane-assisted lorries, including our brand-new, specially adapted model. Visitors were eager to learn more about the capabilities of these impressive vehicles, and it was fantastic to see so much interest in our work. It’s moments like these that remind us why we’re passionate about what we do—helping people find solutions that work for them, while showcasing the reliability and versatility of our fleet.

As a family-run business based in Marchwood, we put a lot of heart into preparing for the show. Coordinating the delivery and setup of our units is no small feat, but seeing everything come together is incredibly rewarding. Our team works hard to ensure that everything runs smoothly, and it’s always worth it when we see the smiles on people’s faces.

And this year, we had a special surprise—a visit from a dwarf ferret! It’s little moments like these that add a touch of magic to the event and make it even more memorable for everyone involved.

The Netley Marsh Steam & Craft Show isn’t just about fun and games; it’s also about making a difference. The event has a long-standing tradition of raising funds for charity, and we’re proud to contribute to this effort. It’s truly inspiring to see how the show brings people together, not just to celebrate, but to support important causes. We’re also delighted that the event helps raise awareness for important initiatives which are close to our hearts at SOS.
