We were honoured to attend the Netley Marsh Steam & Craft Show cheque presentation this weekend and to see more than £50,000 donated to local causes. As one of the organisations invited to nominate a charity, we were proud to put forward George’s Rockstars, a charity that is making an incredible difference to children in hospital.

Our Business Development Manager, Julie McNulty, nominated George’s Rockstars after hearing about the charity through family. Their story and the impact of their music therapy work resonated deeply with her, making it an easy and meaningful choice for us to support.

Each year, the Netley Marsh Steam & Craft Show raises thousands of pounds throughout the weekend of the event. Thanks to the generosity of the committee, George’s Rockstars received an amazing donation of £3,000, which will fund 120 music therapy sessions for children at Southampton Children’s Hospital.

During the presentation, their founder, Amy, shared the powerful story behind the charity:

I founded George’s Rockstars in memory of my son, George, who had leukaemia from 22 months old. He experienced music therapy during a bone marrow transplant, and it meant the world to him. It gave him a way to get out all his emotions and frustrations about his treatment. Locally in our hospitals in Hampshire, we didn’t have anything like that, so we started to change it. We now have music therapists in eight hospitals supporting children during really tough times and illnesses. This donation of £3,000 will fund 120 music therapy sessions for children at Southampton Children’s Hospital.

We are genuinely proud to play a small part in helping them continue this life changing work.

The cheque presentation evening also included generous donations to other local causes including Totton & Eling Christmas Lights and National Coastwatch Institution at Calshot Tower.

A huge thank you James, Gary, and the committee, alongside the incredible volunteers behind the Netley Marsh Steam & Craft Show for their generosity. Supporting local causes is an important part of who we are at Storage On Site, and we are grateful to everyone involved for helping make such a meaningful impact.
